Iran proposes a ten-year natural gas plan to become the world's second largest gas producer

Hassan Montazer Torbati, director of the Planning Department of the National Iranian Gas Company, said that Iran plans to increase its natural gas production capacity by 71% between now and 2025.

According to the report, Torbati said that currently, Iran’s annual natural gas production capacity is 180 million cubic meters per day, ranking third in the world. The country will increase production capacity to 400 million cubic meters per day within four years.

According to the report, Torbati said that the country will vigorously build its natural gas pipelines and plans to increase the length of natural gas pipelines from the current 36,000 kilometers to 45,000 kilometers in 2025. He said the country's natural gas industry requires $62.5 billion in investment.
